High school football rewind: What we learned in 2011 Week 2

ON THE RISE Phoenix Sunnyslope, which went 1-9 last year, is 2-0 with wins over last year's playoff teams, Phoenix Washington and Phoenix Shadow Mountain. New coach Damon Pieri, who won a state championship as a player at Phoenix St. Mary's and had a stint as a player in the NFL, has brought a winning culture quickly to a school trying to re-establish a once-proud football program.
